Planning

Like most things in life it is best to plan ahead and this will certainly save time and money where a pond is concerned.  A poorly sighted or badly designed pond can cause many unwanted problems. Pumps, Filters, Liners and other items of equipment are expensive to replace, if you have chosen them badly, so make sure that you carefully plan all aspects of pond construction well before you go anywhere near your spade.
